Why Choose HGMR?
IL HGMR Series utilizes a mercury-wetted reed switch. A thin film of mercury covers the contacts, which provides a fresh switching surface for every operation. This prevents contact pitting and welding.
The liquid mercury also bridges the contact gap instantly upon closing, eliminating the “contact bounce” found in standard dry reed relays. This makes HGMR ideal for high-speed counting and precision pulse generation.
Mercury wetted relays are position sensitive. They must be mounted vertically (±30°) to ensure the mercury pool remains at the bottom of the switch capsule.
